Sumiko's paintings are included in many private and corporate collections throughout the United States, Japan and other European Countries.

She has been teaching art classes for 20 years in California. And Continues to teach year round.

Sumiko was born near Sapporo, Japan, the site of the recent Winter Olympics. She's had an avid interest in nature and painting since the age of six. Japan's educational system emphasizes a love of nature as manifested through the study of art and the Japanese religion.

Sumiko's works have been verified by many ribbons and cash awards. She has been represented by "Buenaventura Art Association Gallery" in Ventura, California since August, 1987. She has been a Signature Member of the California Gold Coast Society since 1990, and has exhibited at the "113 Gallery" in Santa Barbara, Californina since October 15, in 1990.

Sumiko has been a dancer,International,American Ballroom competitive dancers WCSD and swing. The mood and emotion of her dancing is often refrected in her art.
